Digital image scanned from a 35mm black and white negative of ceramist Abbas M. Ahuwan gathering sand into a pile. A ceramics instructor for the 1974 annual summer session at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, Dr. Ahuwan is captured from his proper left profile as he is crouched down. Using both hands, he piles sand in front of him. He wears a light color shirt and dark color overalls. In front of him is a large cup and bowl. The leg of a camper, who is sitting on an elevated surface, is seen in the background.
