Source catalog description

This description refers to material held by Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. Visual details below describe the original material.

Digital image scanned from a 35mm black and white negative of James E. Lewis giving a presentation at the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts during the 1974 annual summer session. Lewis is captured from the waist up, speaking and holding papers in his proper left hand. He is wearing a light colored madras patterned shirt. Behind him is a brick wall. The left and right corners of the image are blurred due to the focus on Lewis.
