Source catalog description

This description refers to material held by Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. Visual details below describe the original material.

A black-and-white photograph of Mike Tyson, by Platon. The close-up of Tyson depicts him from the shoulders up. His torso and face are turned in a three-quarters pose towards the left edge of the photograph but his eyes are looking towards center at the viewer. He has a serious expression on his face. A large, black, tribal style tattoo is visible over his proper left temple and eyebrow as well as a second one in the top corner of his proper left cheekbone and extends up towards the corner of his eye. Both tattoos feature a swirl pattern with pointed tendrils that partially circle and frame his proper left eye. He is wearing a light tone dress shirt unbuttoned at the collar. He also has a light scruff beard over his cheeks and chin and a soul patch under his lip. The background of the photograph is bright white.
