A color photograph of Serena Williams, by Platon. The close-up of Williams depicts her from the shoulders up with her neck and shoulders heavily shadowed. She is looking directly at the viewer with a serious expression on her face. Her long, straight hair is parted on the proper left side and she is wearing pale lipstick. The background of the photograph is a white halo effect over the top of Williams’ head with a blue to black gradient around the edges. The photograph has a thick white border. The edition number, [5/12], is printed in the bottom left corner. The photographer’s signature and date, [Platon 19], is handwritten in the bottom right corner. Inside the border, at the bottom center, is the photographer’s embossed mark: [PLATON ? / EDITIONED ? / PRINT ?[encircled between two bands of embossed dots]]. The back of the photograph is plain and white.
