A digital, color image of a Black Lives Matter protest in Hollywood, California. The image was taken by Tommy Oliver during the protests that followed the death of George Floyd. The image depicts a very large mass of protesters, most of whom have their fists raised in a gesture of power and solidarity. The protesters have filled a large city street going back several blocks. They are facing the viewer, and many of them are wearing face masks or other types of protective face coverings. In the background are multi-storied buildings; palm trees; traffic signals; the Ripley’s Believe It or Not Odditorium with a large, mask wearing dinosaur on the roof; the Church of Scientology Information Center; and a metro pylon with white text that reads [[Hol]lywood/ / Highland]. In the left foreground are two white loudspeakers wrapped with orange cords and attached to a tall, black, metal armature.
