The arms are connected via a pivot joint to a silver metal pole which slides into and locks in place with the lower portion. The lower portion of the stand (2015.14.10b) is the base of the stand, which is a tripod with black rubber foot caps. The base is adjustable to various heights and has a screw to lock the top portion in place. At the top of the lower portion is a small black and white [MAPEX] plaque.
