Source catalog description

This description refers to material held by Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. Visual details below describe the original material.

Tintype depicts a man sitting with left arm resting on table and right hand holding a cane with a curved top. He is dresssed in a three-piece suit and tie. Tie knot has an additional decorative avian element on it; it is unclear if this is a pin, part of the tie, or some other feature. The hair on the crown of his head is clipped short, and the sides have grown long. Photograph is worn with abrasions overall. Plate is clipped at top left and right corners.
