Source catalog description

This description refers to material held by Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. Visual details below describe the original material.

A pink convertible clutch with a bow clasp. The outside of the clutch is composed of one panel of pale pink synthetic crepe that’s been gathered into a metal frame. A thin layer of pale pink synthetic fabric has been adhered to the frame and at the center of the frame is a gold covered metal clasp with a basket weave texture. A 4” wide self-fabric double-looped pink bow strung through the basket weave clasp and a 11” long gold covered metal chain is attached to the interior back of the frame. Under the exterior layer of crepe is a layer of synthetic satin, underneath that is a layer of plain weave cotton or linen, and then a layer of hardened paper. The inside of the clutch is lined with one panel champagne colored synthetic satin. [H / L / USA] is stamped at the back interior in black ink.
