Source catalog description
This description refers to material held by Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. Visual details below describe the original material.
A black handbag with a circular strap. The purse is composed of two black vinyl panels. The front panel of the bag is seamed to the back panel at the bottom and includes the front half of the circular handle. The back is designed the same way and includes the back half of the circular handle. Both circular shapes (front and back) are joined at the center top, and the seam is covered by a self-fabric .5” wide faux slide adjuster. The purse frame is covered with a thin layer of black synthetic leather, which is most likely adhered into place. There’s a central, cylindrical 1” wide clasp at the top of the frame. One panel of black synthetic faille lines the inside of the purse and there’s an 8” wide metal zipper pocket with a metal pull at the back. Pink and blue shot synthetic twill lines the inside of the zip pocket.
